Staff Picks for 9/28/16

Mae #5: I don't know how else to tell you how amazing this book is, but well, it's my own mom's first comic! She bought a full run! Also, an awesomized version of my face is on the first page, so that makes it a bit extra cool for me, but it's a book about tough women who care about things, and mad scientists and cat people and swordfights and... it's good, okay? It's really, really good.

Assassin's Creed Locus #1: Henry Green is one of my favorites of the supporting characters in the AC games, so getting to see more of him is great!

Descender #15: A month between issues is just too long a wait! I look forward to this book almost more than anything else I'm reading.

Mae #5: This has been such a greatly fun book! Can't wait to see where Heather shows up next. I mean... I can't wait to read more! No really!

Backstagers #2: The first issue was such a delight to read (at my Theatre job no less!) and it's just a fantastic world. I can't wait to read more about what these boys get up to.

Lake of Fire #2: Aliens versus Crusaders! This book has been a joy so far.

Kim & Kim #3: The adventure continues! The Kims continue the hunt and Kim's dad is on the horizon.

Assassin's Creed Locus #1: Back to the world of Assassin's Creed Syndicate, Evie Frye and Henry Green team up... That's basically all I know about this book. But I am a huge fan of the Assassin's Creed franchise, and I love Evie Frye.

Detective Comics #941: Night of the Monster Men continues. What exactly does Gotham Girl plan to do?

Wonder Woman #7: Steve is in trouble that reminds me of some of my late nights scrolling the internet. That knife looks really big. Luckily, Diana is on her way to save the day!

Other books for the shelf: Captain America Sam Wilson #13, Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur #11, and Spider-Gwen #12.

Backstagers #2: This book is one of my new favorite titles! Follow a bunch of misfit drama geeks into adventure through a magic door! Need I say more?

Elfquest Final Quest #16: The tension has really been ratcheted up in the last couple of issues and now things are set to explode. Join Cutter and kin as his quest nears completion in ways no one (except Richard and Wendy Pini) could have foreseen!

Flash #7: Barry finally confronts Godspeed! Will our favorite speedster survive the betrayal of a close ally?

Josie and the Pussycats #1: Archie comics have really been killing it lately and I have very high hopes for this book! Josie and gang were a staple of Saturday morning cartoons for me growing up. I can't wait to get my hands on this one!

Lake of Fire #2: Crusaders versus Aliens! Yeah, I'm in!

Spider-Gwen #12: This is what we have been waiting for! Gwen and Castle finally face off. Will anyone walk away from this one?
