Staff Picks 11/9/16

Namesake #1: In Steve, I trust. Anything with Steve Orlando's name on it is going to be good. That's not a supposition; it's a thing I have learned is simple fact.

Assassin's Creed Awakening #1: Edward Kenway is back! He's one of my favorites of the AC universe, and I'm excited to see more of his story. He buckles all the swash.

Poe Dameron #8: Do not make me angry. Anger leads to the Dark Side, and I might have to shoot purple lightning out of my hands if one of the characters I love turns out to be a traitor!

World of Wakanda #1: This series of collected stories adds even more dimension to Wakanda and its people. Setting a dimension back drop for Black Panther's story, I'm excited to read all about my favorite side characters! Plus, co-written by Roxanne Gay!

Namesake #1: Another outstanding Steve Orlando book, we're getting spoiled with two of those this week, I can't wait to dig into this story. I've been waiting for so long! While you're grabbing this one, check out Supergirl #3.

Wonder Woman #10: Nicola Scott is back on the art, and we're nearing the end of this mammoth first arc. Everything about this book is amazing!

Poe Dameron #8: Is there really a traitor in Black Squadron? I really hope not...

More Awesome Stuff: Alters #2, Assassin's Creed Awakening #1, Detective Comics #944, Klaus HC, Power Man and Iron Fist #10, Shipwreck #2, and Star Wars The Force Awakens Adaptation #6.

Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows #1: This was one the best things to spin out of Secret Wars in my opinion. I love that we finally got a story with Pete and MJ's daughter. I also like that being Spider-Man became a family business in this title. I am really excited to see where this story goes next.

Batgirl and the Birds of Prey #4: This is one of the best team book on the shelves right now! I love that each character has a place in the story and no one feels like they are being shoe horned in to boost sales. I really want to know who this new Oracle is and how they EVER thought that they could take Babs' name in vain and walk away clean!

Betty and Veronica #2: Team Betty or Team Veronica? The struggle is real! Good news for those of on the fence! We have a beautiful book coming out this week to help us decide (or make us even more conflicted, who knows?)

Clean Room #13: Astrid is back! What was up with the evangelical bondage take over? What is going to happen next? And are we really going to see a demon baby? All questions that could be answered in this issue.

Fuse #23: Ralph is jail. Klem is still trying to find the killer (at least her son shouldn't be a suspect anymore). Just another long shift on the Fuse. This book just keeps on delivering the goods. It is like Law and Order in space and I love it!
Jonesy #8: This is the perfect palate cleansing book. It is light, funny and beautiful! Join our heroine as she abuses her power to ship to the most devastatingly funny effect!

All good things: Clone Conspiracy #2, Flash #10, Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps #8, Star Wars: Poe Dameron #8, Supergirl #3, Voltron Legendary Defender #4, Wonder Woman #10 and Star Wars #24.

BLACK PANTHER WORLD OF WAKANDA #1: I'm really excited about this. The Black Panther series is excellent, and I want MORE Wakanda!

DRAGON AGE OMNIBUS TP VOL 01: I'm a fan of the game and the RPG, and the comic is just as smart and beautiful. A definite must for Dragon Age fans, and for readers who like fantasy comics.

GLITTERBOMB #3: Jim Zub's GLITTERBOMB is a fantastic creator-owned series about the dark side of fame.

SUPERGIRL #3: I love her TV show, and the comic is just as much fun. Decidedly lighter than my usual reading, but pretty darn enjoyable.

Flash #10: I've been following the Flash's story for so long. His indivual story outside the Justice League is a fun one.

Detective Comics #944: Detective Comics has such a good feel when it comes to Batman and his new team. When there's a new arc in Detective Comics, there's always a cliffhanger and they always come with reasons that may leave you wanting more.
